Social Networking Sites For Business in Six Easy Steps

Social Networking Sites have increasingly been used for business purposes these days. Social Networking in general has become immensely popular over the last couple of years. In fact, if you go to Alexa.com and look up the top 10 or the top 100 sites on the internet in terms of traffic, many of those will be social networking sites. These sites, while they are a great way to socialize, connect with old friends, and meet new people, can also be very effective at generating new business for your Network Marketing or Internet marketing business. Here are a couple of steps on how to properly set-up and utilizing Social Networking for business.

Step #1) On every social networking site, the first thing that you want to do is to register and set up something known as a profile. Here is the best way to set-up your profile. Tell a little story about yourself, and how it relates to you in network marketing or your business. You absolutely want to include is a link to your capture page or whatever web site you want to promote on there.

Here is a little hint for your profile, if you are in network marketing or using this social networking site for business, don’t make your profile something like “My business is the best business and you would be a fool not to join it”. That is a HUGE turn-off to people and no one will listen to you. Put something relevant about yourself.

Step #2) Do a search for groups on that site where people in your industry or target market might be located or have joined. If you are in Internet Network Marketing, go ahead and do a search for “groups” that are related to MLM or Network Marketing or Home Business or Internet Marketing. This is known as your target market.

Step #3) Join as many of those groups on that Social Networking site as you possibly can, the more the better. Remember these are social networking sites, right? By virtue of you belonging to a group on there, people will naturally want to become what is known as “friend” or “contact” with you.

Step #4) If someone invites you to be their friend, never disapprove that friendship. Always accept it. Even it looks like someone you might not want to do business with; you never know where that contact might lead. When you do accept that friendship, go ahead and send a brief message back to that person thanking them for requesting your friendship and maybe ask them what they are doing on that particular site. Some people are there for fun, some for business. Get to know those people a little bit, network with them, that is the nature of using social networking sites for business.

Step #5) Go out and look for a few people who might be there to network and invite them as a friend. The key is to network with them, and add value to your relationship with them, and you will find that what you give, you will get back tenfold.

Step #6) Always include a link to your lead capture page on your message you send back and forth to them. Don’t ever advertise your MLM or opportunity or whatever, get to know people and all you do is just include your link to your lead capture page with your free offer in your signature block.

If you don’t overtly advertise and spam people, you will find that they will click on the link you are including in your correspondence with them. Otherwise, you will find that these sites create little value for social networking for business.

Each Social Networking site has little nuances to it, and you will need to tweak your techniques on each site you go to. Remember that the key here is to never spam people, and to truly build relationships with these people and you will find that you can very quickly social networking sites for business an essential part of your overall business strategy.
